People go to great lengths and pour substantial amounts of money into making famous watch brands their own. Rolex, Frank Muller, Patek Philippe, Rado –you’ve heard at least one of these names floating around and before going on to some facts that we find interesting about the famous watch brands , here is a true story about one of them.
Rolex –comes 1st in our snapshot of treasured timepieces of world -famous brands. A Swiss manufacturer of wristwatches has a reputation for being the most prestigious with prohibitively high prices . In 1905 Hans Wilsdorf and Davis Company which was renamed Rolex & registered in Switzerland 3 years later. The origin of the word is obscure. Among the company’s innovations are a waterproof watch case, the 1st watch to shaw 2 timezones at once and the 1st watch with a chronometer. “ He’s gone from torn jeans to gold Rolex”–this famous phrase often refers to people who’ve reached great eminence either business or in life .Rolex’s slogan is– maximum quality at maximum price.
Vacheron Constantin— They say that having a Vacheron watch is akin to owning a Rolls—Royce due to its absolute reliability, incredible prestige and expensive price. A young man called Jean-Marc Vacheron opened his own watch-making workshop in 1755. Vacheron Constantin owes its presentday success to a subtle combination of new technologies and old experience.
Patec Philippe-- is a company going back 169 years. In 1839 a Polish migrant Franciszek Czapek chanced in Geneva and took up watchmaking to make his living. The list of its noble clientele highlights Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, later monarchs of over 30 kingdoms and high -ranking clergymen of the Roman Catholic Church. The Patec Philippe watch became a powerful symbol of respectability.
Zenith International—the watch manufacturer founded in 1885 by Georges Favre -Jacot at the age of 22 in Le Locle , Switzerland. In the aftermath of the First
World War the company made a successful transition to wrist watches and in a very brief period of time climbed to the zenith
of world fame ranking among the best 5 Swiss companies.
